About

The Project:
Join us in supporting our mission to make a meaningful impact in rural Panama. We are utilizing UD’s crowdfunding platform, Flyer Funder, to provide essential healthcare services, and your contribution will help us acquire vital medical supplies, cover travel expenses, and ensure the success of our mission.

Who We Are:
A group of University of Dayton students will travel together in an international medical service trip to Panama this upcoming December. We will be working with Global Brigades, an international non-profit organization focused on inspiring, mobilizing, and collaborating with communities to achieve their own health and economic goals. Dentists and physicians will provide consultation, medical and dental services, treatments, and a referral program. Student volunteers will have the opportunity to shadow American and Panamanian healthcare professionals while creating connections with the communities through “Charlas” – conversations with members of the local community to emphasize optimal healthcare practices.

The Impact:
Embarking on a medical immersion trip to Panama promises a profound impact, both for the students volunteering and the communities we are serving. This experience will broaden our horizons by exposing us to diverse medical challenges, providing invaluable hands-on learning opportunities, and fostering cultural awareness. For the people we aim to help, our presence represents hope and access to healthcare they may otherwise lack. This journey is not just a mission; it’s an opportunity for personal growth, cultural exchange, and gain experience that will help shape out futures as future healthcare professionals.

What Your Gifts Will Do:
When you contribute to our fundraiser for the medical mission trip to Panama, your gifts will directly impact the lives of underserved communities by providing crucial medical supplies, enabling us to offer essential healthcare services. Your support will also help cover travel expenses, ensuring our team can reach these communities effectively. Ultimately, your contribution will make a tangible and lasting difference, bringing hope, healing, and improved well-being to those who need it most.

We kindly request your assistant in spreading the message and motivating your own connections to endorse our campaign! Sharing our cause on social media offers a convenient way to amplify our message!

Thanks for Your Support!
We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your financial contribution. Your generosity is instrumental in ensuring the success of our brigade and in empowering the rural communities we serve in Panama. Additionally, your donations contribute to making this experience more accessible for all participating students. Your support is what makes this trip possible, and we genuinely thank you for investing in our group of aspiring healthcare professionals.

Updates
An Update from Sam France '25

The update below is posted on behalf of Sam France.

Hello all,

My name is Sam France. I am a third-year pre-medicine student at the University of Dayton.

In just over a month, I will be a leader on an International Medical Brigade to rural Panama with many fellow students. We will be giving care to the communities we travel to while working with Panamanian and American physicians to help gain experience as pre-health students.

As I mentioned before, we are leaving in just over a month and are looking for financial support in order to provide care to the communities we are traveling to.

If you have already donated, we cannot say how much we appreciate it. If you have not, we would love for you to consider helping with our financial needs. No amount is too big or small to help us purchase the supplies necessary to make the trip a success. Please keep sharing this page with family and friends to help reach our goal!

Thank you,
Sam France '25

Halfway Update from Allison Geers '25

The below update was posted on behalf of Allison Geers '25.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Allison Geers and I am a third-year biochemistry student at the University of Dayton.

In December of this year, I will be one of the leaders on an International Medical Brigade to rural Panama. We will be giving care to rural community members while collaborating with Panamanian and American physicians to help gain experience as pre-medical students.

Our departure is quickly approaching and we are looking for financial support and donations to help give care to the community members we will be serving. We greatly appreciate if you have already donated, and if you have not yet, we would love for you to consider contributing to our trip. No amount is too small or too big in order for us to begin purchasing all of the supplies necessary to make this trip a success. Please keep sharing this page with your friends and family to help us reach our goal.

Thank You All So Much,
Allison Geers
