Matching Gifts and Unlocking Challenges Spotlight
✔️1850 Challenge: Matt McNamara ’09 will give $50,000 if we reach 1,850 donors by 10 a.m.
✔️4000 Challenge: If we reach our One Day, One Dayton goal of 4,000 donors by midnight EDT, Larry ’76 and Rosemari Woerner will give $100,000!
✔️New Crew Challenge: If 500 people make their very first gift to UD, an anonymous donor from the Class of ’69 will give $25,000.
✔️Just for Students: An anonymous donor from the Class of ’15 is giving $15,000 to triple gifts made by current Flyer students.
✔️Surprise Unlock: Two anonymous donors from the Class of '68 will give $100,000 if 1,300 more donors give by midnight to take us to 5,300!
Community Competition
⭐️ If you live in an official UD community, your gift will count toward the group’s participation total. The community with the highest percentage of giving, regardless of the amount, will take home bragging rights for the year.
Student Impact
UD donors have teamed up with areas across campus to create matching gifts to immediately impact current and future Flyers. Here is a short summary of what the funds will be used for:
- Gifts to the Student Development Fund for Excellence will support mental health initiatives, Camp Blue and Christmas on Campus.
- The School of Law Dean’s Fund for Excellence gifts will go toward the enhancement of UDSL programs and student life as well as scholarships for Flyer Legal Promise and the hybrid online J.D.
- The School of Business Administration Dean's Fund for Excellence will support career competitiveness, experiential learning, and faculty and staff excellence.
- Gifts to the School of Education and Health Sciences Dean’s Fund for Excellence will support experiential learning, academic innovations, and student scholarship for nursing, physical therapy, teaching and physician assistant education.
- The Libraries Dean’s Fund for Excellence gifts will support student learning through exhibits and programs as well as digitization projects and updated furniture in study spaces.
- The School of Engineering Dean's Fund for Excellence gifts will provide scholarships and resources that advance, grow and provide access to high-impact experiential learning opportunities through our programs, centers and courses.
- Gifts to the Campus Ministry Fund for Excellence will support faith-based student programming for retreats, residential ministry and outreach, student faith communities, campus liturgies and worship, and service and justice activities.
- The College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Fund for Excellence gifts will support research across the College, particularly faculty-mentored student research.
- Giving day support for the Champions & Scholars Fund will directly enhance sports program operating budgets to support student-athlete travel, equipment, training and practice facilities, nutrition, film, and strength and conditioning.
