The Project:
Create an outdoor space for testing of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic cells, solar thermal devices and solar thermal chemistry tests. Would provide public exposure and class engagement with sun powered engineering devices for UD students and the community.
Who We Are:
We are the DaTA Lab, a faculty, graduate, and undergraduate lab focused in the thermal sciences and their applications. We develop diverse solutions and prototypes ranging from geothermal heat exchangers and photovoltaic system optimization to hypersonic vehicle research.

The Impact:
This project will bring the UD community together to develop diverse solutions, while providing great early career experience to UD students. It will allow UD to give back to the community through sustainability projects while enriching the thermal science field.
What Your Gifts Will Do:
Grant increased access and opportunities to explore the thermal sciences through a new outdoor testing center. This center will increase capacity and square footage to support long-term outdoor research projects.
