The Project:
The Annual Medical Education Conference is hosted by SNMA, our parent organization. Each year, the Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) attracts students from all levels of medical education and is consistently the largest gathering of underrepresented minority medical students in the nation. With a slate of workshops and programs focused on the academic and clinical success, development, and preparedness of our cohort of physicians-in-training, AMEC will not only prepare premed and medical students in their journey to become socially competent and clinically excellent physicians but will also provide a unique opportunity to network with students and physicians from all over the country.
Who We Are:
We are the Multicultural Association of Pre-Med Students. Our goal is to make medical school and other pre-health post-grad programs more accessible to multicultural students by providing resources and networking opportunities that are paramount to the success for matriculation into these programs, with an emphasis on the medical field.
The Impact
My name is Kaitlyn Martin, and I am the president of MAPS. I went to RMEC in 2019, which is a regional medical education conference. I remember talking to medical schools, attending different workshops, and listening to physicians and their inspiring stories about their journeys to becoming a doctors. It was also a unique bonding experience for everyone who went. Overall, in my opinion, it was a very invigorating experience that gave me a new sense of direction in my undergraduate career.
AMEC is an even bigger event with more networking opportunities and more varieties of workshops, and I believe that this is a tremendous opportunity that will not only impact the participants undergraduate career, but also the post-graduate career and activities.
What Your Gifts Will Do
Each ticket to AMEC is $250, and on top of that, AMEC takes place in Orlando, Florida, so there are also hotel and travel expenses involved. Your donation to our crowdfunding campaign will make traveling to and attending the conference affordable for all MAPS students.
*If MAPS is unable to attend the conference for any reason, the funds raised through this campaign will support our attendance at future AMEC events, as well as additional operating expenses for our organization.

Our Flyer Funder is still underway, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far we have gotten! The support that has been shown over the past weeks has been incredible, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We are still collecting donations as we have a ways to go to meet our goal. We need your help! Continue to support us through the online funder and through our in person bake sale. Day one of our bake sale was a success, and the response from everyone who purchased was incredible! We will be selling our tasty goodies again this Thursday, November 18th in the Kennedy Union Lobby outside of Au Bon Pain from 11-2. We would love to see you there!

We are halfway through our donation time period, and we need your help to reach our goal! We are slowly but surely approaching our goal, but it is time to step on the gas and donate! No donation is too small, but we need your to help us get to our goal by the end of the timeframe! The more donations that we recieve, the higher the possibility of more people attending the Annual Medical Education Conference. AMEC is a national event, hosted by our parent organization, SNMA, where people in all levels of the medical field congregate for the better of students seeking to join the medical field.
At AMEC there will be Q&A's with physicians, workshops, such as mock-interviews, and general networking opportunities. The Annual Medical Education Conference is a yearly conference our Medical Professionals, students interested in health care related jobs, and many other individuals who have a strong, positive connection with the health care field. By reaching our goal, we will be able to attend this once in a lifetime experience.
As anything, this opportunity requires a lot of money, which is why we partnered with UD to start a campaign on Flyer Funder to raise the money for MAPS to go to AMEC. Help us raise $5,000 by donating or sharing our campaign!
