The Project
Baja SAE is a collegiate design competition where engineering students design, build, and race off-road vehicles. We get to live the dream of building an offroad vehicle from the ground up. We get to see the full lifecycle of bringing a product to life. We get hands on engineering experience that prepares us for the workforce in more ways than we realize. Dayton Baja SAE empowers students with industry-relevant experience that transforms knowledge from the classroom into real solutions. We could not do this without the help of our amazing supporters.
Who we are
University of Dayton Baja SAE was founded in 2022 and functions within the School of Engineering. Since 2023, our organization has competed in six races across the country and is currently beginning the design of our third-generation vehicle.
The impact
This project empowers engineering students to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application by tackling real-world engineering challenges, preparing them for successful careers. It also facilitates valuable connections with potential employers in the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors, creating direct pathways to professional opportunities.
