The project
Baja SAE is a collegiate design competition where engineering students design, build, and race off-road vehicles. The University of Dayton's Society of Automotive Engineers is currently in the process of building our second-generation vehicle, to compete in the Baja SAE Carolina competition in October 2025. Dayton Baja SAE empowers students with industry-relevant experience through hands-on engineering challenges that transform theoretical knowledge into practical solutions.
Who we are
University of Dayton Baja SAE was founded in 2022 and functions within the School of Engineering. Since 2023, our organization has competed in four races across the country and is currently in the process of fabricating our second-generation vehicle. At our most recent race, we placed 11/39 overall, racing against some of the top engineering schools in the country.
The impact
This project empowers engineering students to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application by tackling real-world engineering challenges, preparing them for successful careers. Furthermore, it facilitates valuable connections with potential employers in the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors, creating direct pathways to professional opportunities.
What your gifts will do
Every dollar raised will fuel our dual mission of building and competing. Your donations will be strategically invested in essential components, precision tools, and competition expenses—directly empowering our team to design, build, and excel on the competitive stage.
